W.Bro. Joe Manchester's Garden Open Day

28 July 2018 - 4:00pm

How many of you tuned into Gardeners' World last Friday evening to see the truly spectacular garden that W.Bro. Joe Manchester has created at his home in Wythall? If you missed it, you can find it on BBC iPlayer.

The garden is truly awesome and is packed full of tall plants and short plants, tall trees and short trees, bushes and there are even themed areas. It is awash with colours and textures that look as though they have come straight from an artist's palette. Who would have thought that in the little outback of Wythall somebody could have a stunning Caribbean oasis! It is all down to Joe’s dedication and commitment. He spends  4 hours per day, every day, maintaining his garden.

Joe is a member of the National Garden Scheme (NGS). The NGS is the most significant charitable funder of nursing charities in the country, donating over £50 million so far. NGS help their garden owners open their beautiful gardens to the public, sharing their passion and raising impressive amounts of money through entry fees, teas and slices of cake. Around 3,700 gardens open each year.

Joe has kindly agreed to open his garden to all Freemasons, their families and friends. His open day will be held on Saturday 28th July 2018 from 4.00 pm to 8.00 pm. There will be no entrance fee but donations to Festival 2022 would be greatly appreciated.

During the opening hours there will be refreshments and a variety of slices of cake on sale. Again, all monies raised will be donated to Festival 2022.

Joe is very much looking forward to welcoming as many Worcestershire Freemasons as possible!
